1. General
We sell astrophotography equipment and accessories through this online store. All purchases are subject to product availability, pricing, and acceptance of your order.
2. Pricing & Payment
- •All prices are listed in ZAR
- •We are not yet VAT registered, so no VAT is charged at this time
- •We reserve the right to update prices or correct errors without prior notice
- •Full payment is required before orders are processed
3. Orders & Delivery
- •Once your order is placed, you will receive an order confirmation by email
- •We aim to dispatch stocked items within 1-2 working days
- •Some items may require additional lead time if not in stock
- •Delivery times vary depending on location and courier services
4. Warranty & Product Support
All products are covered by manufacturer warranties as detailed in the product description. We assist with warranty claims by liaising with the manufacturer on your behalf where needed.
5. Limitation of Liability
We make every effort to ensure product descriptions and specifications are accurate. However, we cannot be held responsible for minor discrepancies or typographical errors.
While we strive to provide up-to-date product information, some descriptions may differ slightly from the manufacturer's official data. Each product page includes a link to the manufacturer's website for the most current information.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of products purchased on this site.
6. Marketplace
In addition to selling new products, AstroGear provides a platform for customers to buy and sell second-hand equipment through the Marketplace. All such transactions are subject to our Marketplace Policy, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.
AstroGear verifies listings and facilitates payments through escrow to protect both buyers and sellers. See our full Marketplace Policy below.
7. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with local legal requirements.

About the Marketplace
AstroGear provides a community-driven, escrow-based platform for safe buying and selling of second-hand astrophotography equipment within South Africa.
Listings & Approval
- •All listings must include accurate title, description, price, condition, and photos
- •AstroGear reviews all draft listings before publication
- •We may reject listings that are incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate
Service Levels & Fees
AstroGear offers different service levels for Marketplace transactions, each with different features and fees. Details are shown when creating a listing.
- •Secure escrow payment handling
- •Buyer and seller protection
- •Platform verification of listings
- •Shipping costs paid by buyer at checkout
- •Payment gateway fees displayed at checkout
Buyer Protection
- •All payments are held securely until order completion
- •"As-Is" items are final sale unless not received or grossly misrepresented
- •Disputes are reviewed and resolved by AstroGear
Shipping for Marketplace Items
- •Live courier quotes are available at checkout with multiple shipping options
- •Buyers can select their preferred courier service and speed
- •Optional shipping insurance is available based on item value (up to R30,000)
- •Tracking details are provided for all shipments
Multi-Seller Orders
Orders containing items from multiple sellers (including AstroGear stock and Marketplace items) will be split into separate orders, each with its own shipping. This ensures each seller can fulfill their items directly.
Returns & Refunds for Marketplace Items
Marketplace purchases may be eligible for returns and refunds, subject to the following conditions:
- •Returns must be requested within the applicable protection period
- •Items must be in the same condition as received
- •"As-Is" items are final sale unless not received or grossly misrepresented
Important: For approved refunds, third-party costs (shipping fees, payment gateway fees, and bank charges) that were incurred to process the transaction cannot be recovered and will be deducted from the refund amount. AstroGear's platform commission is refunded in full.
This Marketplace Policy is governed by the laws of South Africa and forms part of the overall Terms & Conditions.
